Ash Wednesday Lenten Soup Supper Wednesday, March 1st 4:30pm - 7:00pm St. Bernard’s Church Hall The annual Lenten Soup Supper, sponsored by the St. Bernard’s Women’s Guild, will take place after the Ashes ceremony on Ash Wednesday. We are looking for donations of meat-free soup and breads. The soups should be brought in crock pots and the pots taken home that evening. Donations can be dropped off at the Church hall after 2:30pm on March1st. Baking breads or making soup is a good way to fulfill service hours for Confirmation candidates! Palms to Ashes

Palms to Ashes If you have blessed palms at home, please bring them to either St. Bernard or St. Matthew Church by Monday, February 27th so they may be burned for Ash Wednesday (March 1st). At St. Bernard’s containers will be left in the vestibules. At St. Matthew’s a container will be left outside at the entrance to the parish hall.

Dear Parish family, One evening in the middle of January I found myself driving the now familiar route from Tolland to Rockville.  It was a cold night and somehow the trip seemed different.   About half way home I had an Epiphany moment (aha!) and realized that the many Christmas candles that had illumined the windows were missing.  It was the end of the Christmas season and they had all been packed away for another year. The Youth Group will be traveling to Ski Butternut to go snow tubing on February 20, 2017!  We will take a bus from St. Bernard's Church to Ski Butternut at 8 AM and return at 2:30 PM. Knights of Columbus Valentine’s Dinner Saturday, February 18th at 6:00pm Snow Date:  Sunday, February 19th St. Matthew Church Hall, Tolland The Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a Valentine’s dinner to benefit Haiti. Our next meeting will be March 7.  We will be sponsoring the Lenten soup supper on Wed Mar 1 ( Ash Wed) and therefore will  be looking for donations of meatless soup and baked breads. Watch for more details in upcoming emails and bulletins.  April has always been our toddler Mass when we bring new clothes and diapers for Hockanum Valley.  Last year they decided they no longer would distribute these items.  Therefore this year we will have to find a new charity for these items.  We are thinking Birthright.  They are looking for newborn items and diapers ( not toddlers)  We can make a ...

Birthright is an emergency pregnancy service offering free pregnancy tests, friendship counseling, and practical support. Our guiding principle: It is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth and the right of every child to be born. We help any pregnant girl or woman who calls us.
