Saint Bernard Women’s Guild Meeting September 5th at 6:00pm St. Bernard Church Hall Our first meeting is September 5th and a light dinner will be provided. Some of our dates will need to be changed on the calendar. The bazaar is going to be first thing on the agenda. (It will be here before you know it.) We need some crafty ideas; crafts to sell at the bazaar. Your mission, if you wish to accept it, is to come up with something that we all can make and sell. Annual Summer Toy Drop for the St. Bernard Bazaar We are looking for your once loved Legos/board games/puzzles/dolls and trucks. Get the kiddos to work cleaning out their toy chests and put those toys they no longer want aside for our bazaar. We will hold the toy drive the weekend of Aug 26/27. Calling all Bakers & Shoppers: We’re seeking new recruits to update our list of volunteers willing to bake or purchase refreshments for various parish events throughout the year. About a week before an event we email a request and those who would like to contribute respond - so easy & no pressure! Youth Group - Hartford Yard Goats Game Sunday, August 20th This trip is open to students in grades 7-12 and recently graduated seniors. We will leave St. Bernard's parking lot by bus at 12:30pm and return around 5:30pm. The cost of the trip is $25. Soupfest 2017 - "The Last Souper" First Meeting - Monday, August 7th 7:00-8:00pm St. Bernard’s School Basement This year’s Soupfest will raise needed funds for the Cornerstone Foundation. Best Wishes Matthew Aubin! For the past 6 years, Matthew Aubin has shared his musical talents with us at St. Bernard Church. During this time, Matthew has played organ, piano, worked with our cantors and directed our choir when subbing for Norma. August 6th will be Matthew’s last weekend at St. Bernard’s before heading off to Washington D.C for a year of service with Capuchin Franciscan Volunteer Corps.  In the spirit of St. Francis’ care for the poor, Matthew will be working as a teacher’s aide at Sacred Heart School while living a simple lifestyle in community with other volunteers. ...
