Once again the Haitian Ministry is sponsoring our annual toy collection for the children of St. Pierre Parish, Gantier, Haiti.  This year it will be the weekend of Sept. 30-Oct. 1.  Kids of all ages are invited to bring new, unwrapped toys up to the altar during the masses at both St. Matthew and St. Bernard churches that weekend.  These toys will be shipped to St. Pierre and distributed to their school children, who would otherwise receive no gifts.  Toys should be small enough to fit into the shipping barrels and should not require batteries (they cannot be replaced) or written instruction (they do...

Our Sixth and Final First Saturday Devotion Will Be October 7th at St. Matthew. Our Lady of Fatima asked for the establishment of the Five First Saturdays Devotion. Our Lady promised to assist all who make this devotion at the hour of their death with all the graces necessary for salvation. This devotion can be done on any five consecutive Saturdays. We are looking to replace 4 long-time volunteers who are moving on. We need: 2 volunteers for a Tuesday team 2 volunteers for a Friday team Teams work once a month at the Cornerstone Soup Kitchen around the corner from St. Bernard. Hours are 4:45pm-6:00pm. Duties include setting-up, serving, clean-up, sweeping and mopping. Parishioners from both churches are welcome to volunteer. Small Christian Communities (SCC) September is a time for new beginnings and you are invited to join a Small Christian Community.  Come to learn, experience and discern if a SCC is something you want to include in your prayer life.
