August 10th & 11th at St. Matthew Church

August 17th & 18th at St. Bernard Church

Monsignor James Carini, will be speaking at the Masses at Blessed Sacrament Parish about the Diocese of Norwich Outreach to Haiti’s work and commitment to serve the people of Haiti.

The second collection on these weekends is dedicated to Outreach to Haiti. Funds from this collection will support the thousands of families in the poverty-stricken area of Christ Roi in Port-au-Prince. Your gifts can help provide education scholarships, medical care, nutrition and feeding programs, support for orphanages, and more.

For more than 30 years, Outreach has been helping Haitians through its many health, education and community outreach programs, creating stronger relationships between twined parishes in the US and Haiti, and offering guided immersion trips. Outreach is currently rebuilding in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the clinic, offices and mission house destroyed by the earthquake.

Msgr. Carini has been involved with Outreach to Haiti for many years—his initial trip to Haiti in 1985, subsequent stay to learn the language, evaluate where a possible mission could be most effective and create it—does little to describe his contributions to the formation of the diocese’s Outreach to Haiti. Thank you in advance for your generosity. For more information about this ministry please visit:
